I assume the XML-RPC protocol isn't magically secure and decided to force xmlrpc.php over to SSL via an apache rewrite rule. Now I get an "untrusted certificate" error dialog when attempting to post. I can only click "OK". It would be nice to be able to accept the certificate as Safari allows on the iPhone. I'm self hosting and use a self-signed SSL certificate as an inexpensive way to make sure login credentials aren't in the clear.

Sending the XML-RPC requests over SSL is the right way to secure the requests. I'm not sure about the status of self-signed SSL certs and the app though so I'm going to point this out to the app devs for feedback.
