images cannot be posted

   as from yesterday I am not able to submit any posts with images included. I have the latest versions of Wordpress and Iphone app, am using the default template. Did work fine for me earlier. Not sure if I installed a new wordpress iphone app version.

   -Have already tried to fallback to a prior Wordpress version.
   -Reinstalled the Iphone Wordpress app
   -Reinstalled wordpress on server
   No luck.

   -Al goes well as long as I'm posting text only.
   -It also works fine when adding images from wordpress server.
   Once an image is added to the post via the iphone....bad things happen.
   See example on "www.caia.be"

   It looks like tags missing and the uploaded picture is not interpreted like html in wordpress.

   Anyone a good idea?

   Update: It seems there is no difference anymore between html or visual after uploading an image via iphone.....??

   If it worked fine earlier, I wonder if you (or your hosting service) made any changes to your blog or the server? Did you add any plugins, or change themes?

   I have not seen this problem before... We'll have to investigate more deeply...

   I had a problem saving a draft to the server, as opposed to local, with a picture attached. It gave me a bad username or password error when it tried to upload the image to the server. However, I was able to upload the image via Firefox from my laptop. Not sure if it matters, but the image was from my iPhone in both cases, though, of course, when trying to load it from my laptop, I'd synched the phone and the picture was local to my laptop.

   Yup, having the exact same problem. When I upload my post with an image, the actual image code text is shown instead of the image. The actual image does get uploaded. It's like if you took the html of the post, cut and pasted it into the visual tab in the post editor. So, all that is displayed is something like:

   Took this picture this evening as a large front moved through the area.

   Any word on a fix for this? Is it a WP editor setting of some sort?

   im having the same problem. i did install a theme so that could be a problem, but i would love for this to be resolved as the iphone is a great way of posting and i'd love to take advantage of it!

    I've worked all night to fix this issue as well. I finally found a fix this morning. Not sure if it is posted elsewhere. My apologies if it is.

    Try this:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/libxml2-fix/

    Download that plug-in and activate it on your Wordpress dashboard.
    It was an instant fix for me. After 8 hours of trying to find a fix, I was happy to find this! Now my photos post from my iPhone without the brackets being stripped out when parsing XML.

    Hi,
    I have the same issues for pic sent with iphone app, there aren't showing.
    I have installed the extension and activated it, but it still the same.
    What did I miss ?

    Scooby: The issue as described by chippwalters, wherein opening and closing brackets for HTML tags are stripped out, is caused by a bug in an outdated bit of software that's installed by your hosting provider. Joseph Scott's LibXML2 plugin, linked above by dallas hunt, should solve these problems. If they don't, however, you should request that your hosting provider update their software to PHP 5.2.9+ with libxml2 2.7.3+.
